  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 2 1/2 cups broccoli slaw about 1/2 of 12 oz. package
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning no salt added
  • 2 TBSP water
  • 8 oz tomato sauce no-salt-added
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese optional
  • 1 tsp chopped fresh basil optional

  • Heat oil over medium-high heat in a medium skillet. Add broccoli slaw. Saute for 2 minutes.
  • Add garlic powder, Italian seasoning, water, tomato sauce, sugar {if using}, and salt. Stir well. Bring to a simmer and lower heat to medium-low. Simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from heat. Stir in mozzarella. Plate spaghetti, and sprinkle with Parmesan and basil {if using}. Enjoy!

*The small amount of sugar helps bring out the natural sweetness in the tomato sauce. You can omit it but it might taste a tiny bit bitter. My personal preference is to add the sugar.
