Happy National Wine Day! and happy almost summer!! I love Memorial Day because it’s the start of summer and always gets me excited for the
hot warm weather to come and lots of outdoor fun.
What better way to celebrate both of those things than with a wine slushy (i.e. the easiest thing ever)?
Answer: there is no better way to celebrate.
I love all types of wine, but it’s hard for me to enjoy a glass of red in the summertime.
I usually just want white or sparkling or something like that because it’s served chilled.
Can you freeze wine?
Yes! If you freeze wine (no matter what color), you get a slushy, refreshing beverage that only requires one step: freezing your wine in ice trays. That’s it.
Just pour some wine into an ice cube tray, freeze, then pop the wine ice into a cup and use a fork or spoon to make it into a slushy.
It’s also a great way to use up wine if you only have a glass or two.
Instead of letting it sit on your counter or in the fridge, pour it into ice cube trays.
When you’re ready to enjoy, you can pop a few into a cup and turn it into your refreshing wine slushy.
For about 8 ounces, you’ll need about 8 cubes of wine ice.
And there you have it, the perfect way to usher in the warmer months and celebrate national wine day. Woohoo!
- 8 ounces wine
- Pour wine into an ice cube tray, and freeze for at least 4 hours.
- When ready to enjoy, transfer wine ice cubes into a cup and use a spoon or fork to turn the ice cubes into a slushy.
