A flavor explosion in a bowl, this spicy Wasabi Edamame Dip is tasty and high in protein
Since I have a massive container of edamame in my fridge right now, I decided I'd make a dip with edamame. I've made edamame hummus before and it was good.
But I wanted something different.
For this Wasabi Edamame Dip, I used wasabi (obviously), sesame seeds, soy sauce, lime juice, and cayenne pepper to give it tons of flavor. It's like a flavor explosion up in this here dip!
I love serving dips with sliced veggies (or sliced fruit if that is more appropriate -- like cookie dough dip).
Feel free to change the amount of heat in the dip by adjusting how much wasabi and cayenne pepper you use.
Personally, I like things spicy so I used a heavy hand when adding the amounts. But it's up to you.

Wasabi Edamame Dip
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 2 cups shelled edamame cooked
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 teaspoon prepared wasabi
- โ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- โ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari sauce
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Add the sesame seeds to the bowl of a mini food processor. Process until smooth, about 30 seconds.
- Add edamame and garlic. Blend for about 15 seconds.
- Push down sides and add remaining ingredients. Process until smooth. Adjust seasoning as desired. Enjoy!

Can you replace Edamame with mukimame?

Yes! I didn't know it until know, but I believe that "mukimame" is the correct term for the shelled edamame. You simply want the soybeans out of the pods.
