I thought that using a recipe from the cookbook I created with my grandmother Nan this year would be a fabulous choice, especially since it conjures up fond memories for me.
My dad makes these for our Christmas lunch dessert every year. Luckily, I am full enough that I only have room for one. Otherwise, I’d be napping the rest of Christmas Day.

They could not be easier! Add everything into a blender and blend.
Tips for Making these coffee drinks
The recipe calls for less alcohol than we usually use, but I think it’s better to start small and add more as needed.
The best ice cream for the recipe
Honestly, any ice cream you like will be good. We prefer coffee ice cream because it goes well with the coffee liquor, but you could also use chocolate ice cream.
Because you are drinking this, I don’t recommend using a very rich ice cream. Otherwise, your drink might be too rich.
Make Ahead Tips
These can be made ahead of time for up to 24 hours and kept in the fridge. In fact, my dad does this every year so he doesn’t have to bother with the blender after we enjoy our Christmas meal.
Variations & Substitutions
Feel free to use a dairy free ice cream for a dairy free drink.
Keep these in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer.
What to serve with this dish
Well, you definitely need to eat a meal with these so you aren’t too tipsy after drinking.

What You'll Need:
- 48 ounce coffee ice cream softened
- 4 ounces coffee liqueur
- 1 1/2 ounces brandy
How to Make It:
Add the ice cream to a blender. Top with coffee liqueur and brandy. Blend until smooth. Enjoy!
*Leave the ice cream in the fridge overnight or at least a few hours for softened ice cream
*This starts with a smaller amount of alcohol; you can add more as needed.
