It’s so easy to make this soda fountain favorite using CocoaVia® Sweetened Dark Chocolate supplement packs to get your daily dose of cocoa flavanols

Have you ever had an egg cream fizz?
No? Well, despite how weird the name sounds, they are delicious! They’re like a chocolate milk soda in the best way possible.
Because I’m a big food nerd, I did some research on why in the world the name of this drink was called an egg cream fizz. I mean, there’s no egg or cream in this beverage. That’s just confusing.
research googling, I found some compelling arguments that it was started in New York — Brooklyn to be specific. Most of the theories for the name come from someone mispronouncing a phrase causing it to become an “egg cream fizz” without the egg or cream.
Honestly, it doesn’t matter why it’s called this; what matters is that it tastes so good! Whoever created this concoction of milk, chocolate syrup, and soda water was a genius!
What these genius people probably didn’t consider is the health benefits you get from cocoa. Maybe it’s because chocolate syrup is better known for its hefty dose of sugar than for its cocoa flavanols (if it even has any).
Wondering what cocoa flavanols are? Cocoa flavanols, like the kind in CocoaVia® Chocolate supplement packs, are scientifically proven to help promote a healthy heart by supporting healthy blood flow†. Cocoa flavanols are found naturally in the cocoa bean, and the concentrated cocoa extract in the CocoaVia® supplement is made using the patented Cocoapro® process to extract to the goodness. The cocoa flavanols in CocoaVia® are backed by two decades of scientific research that suggests these powerful plant-derived nutrients from cocoa beans may play a valuable role in cardiovascular health. These convenient little packages deliver the highest concentration of cocoa flavanols at 375mg per pack. (For more information, visit www.CocoaVia.com)
Chocolate — or chocolate syrup in this case — is a fabulous treat, but it’s not a reliable way to get sufficient quantities of cocoa flavanols. Traditional cocoa processing, which includes drying, fermenting and roasting of beans, destroys many of the flavanols naturally present in the cocoa bean. CocoaVia® supplement isolates the “good stuff†in chocolate in a convenient form, without all the other stuff.
Basically, these little CocoaVia® Chocolate supplement packs contain your daily dose of cocoa flavanols that are heart-health promoting, and they are delicious & incredibly versatile! I’ve been adding them to my oatmeal, making hot chocolate with them (just warm some milk and stir in one CocoaVia® Sweetened Dark Chocolate supplement pack), and making smoothies with them (chocolate + peanut butter + banana smoothie for the win).
The cocoa flavanols are best absorbed in your body when you drink them immediately after using them which is why I’ve been crushing on this Chocolate Cream Fizz. And by crushing I mean loving. And by loving I mean I get out of bed looking forward to my fizzy chocolatey glass of goodness to start my day.

For my version, I decided to bag the word egg. Not because I don’t love eggs — I really do. I just don’t love the word “egg” in my chocolate fizzy drink specialty. Chocolate, cream, and fizz are all better in my opinion at describing this deliciousness. But I wish there was a way that I could put in the title that it also boosts health benefits as well! Tasty and health-promoting?! I’ll have another glass tomorrow morning 🙂
