About

Hi! I’m Meme, and welcome to my blog – Living Well Kitchen.

On Living Well Kitchen you’ll find lots of recipes along with practical nutrition advice, restaurant reviews, fitness fun, and any other ramblings I may have.

I hope you find something that interests you here.

In my opinion, “everything in moderation” is the key to living well. I couldn’t go through life without sweets or bacon, but I know it’s not healthy to eat these daily. I don’t believe in restricting foods or that there are good or bad foods.

My food philosophy is to eat real food, monitor portion sizes, eat more vegetables & fruit, and most importantly, enjoy the food I eat!

I really like to make things as healthy as possible but still really tasty. I want people to realize that healthy food really can be good.

If I had to say one thing I wanted everyone to do to eat healthier, it would most certainly be to eat more vegetables & fruit. When I’m making a recipe, I almost always try to add in a few extra vegetables.

I love cooking, baking, and sharing good food with my friends and family, and I spend a lot of my spare time experimenting in the kitchen!

My cooking and baking habits led me to write a blog, so I could share the good recipes that come out of my kitchen. I wanted to have a place to share the healthy {and sometimes not so healthy} things I’ve made & loved.

Even though I love my kitchen, I also enjoy adventures outside of my humble abode. I live in New Orleans, and good restaurants are a plenty here. Occasionally, I’ll do a restaurant review on my experience related to eating healthy.

As for my job, I am a registered dietitian and I do personal nutrition counseling, group health & wellness programs, and cooking demonstrations/classes, among other things. I am passionate about educating people on the importance of living well and how to maintain a healthier lifestyle. I work with individuals and families to help them learn how to make healthier decisions for life.

I’m a Registered and Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist, and I have a private practice. I have a Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition from The University of Alabama (Roll tide!!) and a Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition from The University of Alabama at Birmingham.
